Modern engines rely heavily on use of correct lubricants. As emissions standards become more strict, manufacturing tolerances get tighter. This results in lubricants being designed specifically to suit engines. On diesel engines fitted with a 'particulate filter', using the wrong oil cause thousands of dollars worth of damage. Not sure which oil to use....ask!
Wherever possible, I use Liqui Moly products. They are manufactured to exceed all brand specifications.

Often overlooked by owners due to the relatively high cost of replacement, the timing belt is arguably the most important part of the car. The timing belt's job is to syncronise the rotation of the crankshaft and the camshaft(s) so that the engine's valves open and close at the proper times during each cylinder's intake and exhaust strokes. Failure of the belt or one of its pulleys can cause destruction of the engine! Better safe than sorry!!!

Driving without brakes isn't fun so it's important to keep them in good order. Modern braking systems don't require any regular maintenance or adjustment apart from a brake fluid change every 2 years. If you service your car regularly any issues should be picked up during the service inspection before they become a problem. But if you hear any harsh noises, you should have your brakes checked immediately.
